Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No, you do not need a referral from your doctor. Our registered chiropodist will handle the assessment, prescription, and dispensing for your orthotics! However, if you would like compression stockings, you WILL have to provide a prescription so we know which compression level you need.
Are orthotics and compression stockings covered by my insurance?
Most employee benefit plans do provide orthopedic supply coverage (custom-made orthotics and compression stockings). A good way to find out is to call your insurance company and ask what your coverage is.
Why are orthotics helpful?
As the hospital for special surgery has stated; "They work like shock absorbers, removing pressure and stress from painful areas in the foot and ankle.
